Laser scanning is the method we employ when we need to collect a vast amount of precise point data quickly at a high accuracy. We use the latest in scanning technology to obtain a high quality point cloud which can be used in many ways.
The applications for point cloud data range from simply extracting elevation and floor plan data for a measured building survey (link to section) to creating a fully detailed 3D model of a structure to drop into a BIM (link to section) software or monitoring (link to section) a structure for movement. Laser scanning is particularly relevant in areas that are difficult to access, congested or highly detailed.
Other typical applications include as-built surveys, stockpile volumes, periodic surveys for monitoring progress, heritage documentation and verticality surveys.
